Nalpamaradi Oil: The Classical Four-Tree Oil for Everyday Skin Care

What Nalpamaradi means, what goes into our oil, and how to use it gently as part of a regular skin-care routine.

Nalpamaradi is one of the best-known skin oils in Ayurveda. The name comes from nalpamara, “four trees”, a group of four fig-family trees that give the formulation its character. It is a traditional oil applied by gentle massage, and it is often chosen for tan-care routines. We describe it that way because that is how it is traditionally used. We don’t promise any result.

What is Nalpamaradi oil?

In Ayurveda, an oil is made by cooking herbs into a base oil, so the finished oil carries their qualities. VedJyoti Nalpamaradi Skin Oil follows this approach: a cold-pressed sesame oil base with 14 named botanicals, no mineral oil, and nothing hidden behind “fragrance” or “parfum”.

The four trees

The four trees give the oil its name. All four are named on our label.

  • Vata (banyan): supports skin firmness
  • Udumbara (cluster fig): soothes and nourishes skin
  • Ashwath (sacred fig): supports healthy skin
  • Plaksha (wavy-leaf fig): soothes and refreshes skin

What else goes into it

  • Haridra (turmeric): purifies and protects skin
  • Manjistha: supports clear-looking skin
  • Chandan (sandalwood): cools and calms skin
  • Ushira (vetiver): cools and refreshes skin
  • Amla, Haritaki and Vibhitaki: the three fruits of Triphala, traditionally used to support clear-looking skin
  • Parpatta, Chowrka and Kushtha: traditional skin-purifying botanicals

Fifteen ingredients, every one of them named on the label.

What to expect, honestly

Skin responds differently to every oil. Nalpamaradi is traditional skin care, not a bleaching agent or a medical treatment. We don’t claim it removes tan, lightens skin or treats pigmentation. If you are using it for tan care, think of it as one gentle step alongside sun protection, which matters more than any oil.

How to use it

  1. Cleanse your skin and pat it dry.
  2. Warm a small amount of oil between your palms.
  3. Massage gently into the intended area.
  4. Follow the amount and timing printed on the pack.

Before you start

Do a patch test first. Apply a little behind the ear or on the inner forearm and wait 24 hours. Use on the face only if the pack says facial use is intended. Keep it away from the eyes. Stop using it if you see irritation, and follow the label.

Our oils are traditional personal-care products. They are not medical treatments, and they don’t claim to treat any skin condition.
